A $125 Bundle, and the One Bundle West Virginia Gives Away

Stated plainly at the start: West Virginia Registered Agent.co wrote this page, sells agent service at $99 per year, and is a direct rival of the company under review. Rocket Lawyer's rates below are taken from its own published materials as they read in July 2026.

Consistent Pricing, Acknowledged

Rocket Lawyer prices the agent role at $125 per year and applies the identical figure at every membership tier. There is no promotional opening rate and no increase waiting in the second year. Within a category where introductory pricing is close to the default sales technique, that consistency is a real virtue and should be recorded as one.

The platform is substantive as well. Document assembly, a template library, and attorney consultations make up a subscription legal service, within which the agent product occupies a single line rather than defining the whole. An owner drawing on the documents or the attorney access several times a year is receiving fair value at $125.

The Bundle Question

The relevant test is therefore usage rather than price. West Virginia asks for a street address inside the state, a presence during business hours, and prompt handling of anything served. That obligation does not scale with the size of the subscription attached to it, and there is no enhanced version of the requirement that a larger plan unlocks.

An owner who opens the Rocket Lawyer library regularly should stay with Rocket Lawyer, because the agent line is close to incidental at that point. An owner who bought the subscription in order to fill the agent line, and has not generated a document since, is financing a legal platform to receive correspondence.

The One Bundle That Costs Nothing

West Virginia has a bundle of its own, and the state's version works by subtraction rather than addition. Under W. Va. Code § 59-1-2(j), a veteran-owned organization pays no filing fee on its Articles of Organization, and the same status carries an exemption from the $25 annual report fee for the company's first four years.

That is not a discount code or a limited promotion. It is written into the fee statute, it appears on the state's own formation form, and it is almost never mentioned in national comparisons of registered agent services, which is why it is worth printing on a page like this one. A veteran-owned West Virginia LLC can reach its fourth anniversary having paid the Secretary of State nothing whatsoever, while four years of Rocket Lawyer agent coverage would have come to $500.

The sequencing rule is the only part that matters procedurally: the successor's name and signature belong on the same application that removes Rocket Lawyer, so the new appointment has to be arranged before anything is filed, and the membership should be cancelled after the record updates rather than before. No West Virginia entity is ever left without somewhere for process to go, because the Secretary of State occupies that position whenever an agent is absent from the record. What an out-of-date designation actually costs is timing and visibility: the papers arrive, and they arrive somewhere the owner has stopped looking.
